Last week the BURN team traveled to Indianapolis for FDIC, the worlds biggest firefighter convention. We had a week full of screenings on a gorgeous IMAX screen (including numerous sold out shows), and we also had a great time on the convention floor with our partners at MSA! We were joined by the Detroit Firefighters from the film who were there to meet and greet our fans, as well as take part in Q&As after each screening. A huge thank you to both our old fans AND new, who were able to make it out to the screenings and make it an awesome week for Team BURN!

When NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams reached out to us for an interview, we were a little taken aback. But the national press is already picking up that, while BURN focuses on Detroit firefighters, the film brings light to the issues ALL firefighters are facing in the current American economy.

GREAT NEWS!
BURN has been accepted to premiere at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival this April. It’s an incredible honor for us to premiere at this prestigious festival!
You now know as much as we do! For more information about the festival, please visit Tribeca’s Website.
This is an incredible opportunity for the film and, given NYFD and the tremendous fan base the film has in the Midwest and East Coast, we can’t think of a better festival to premiere the film!
However, we did not expect to premiere so soon, and are still editing! And, we recently lost a grant and a sponsor pulled out. So we are also in a rush to find the funds we need to finish in time for the premiere.
We’ve received thousands of e-mails, from firefighters and their families all over the nation and the world — with budgets being cut all over, firefighters and first responders are on the chopping block. Nowhere is this more acute than in Detroit.
Please DONATE NOW! Share our website, detroitfirefilm.org! And promote the completion of this incredibly important film!
Many, many thanks!

The folks at the Detroit Free Press have been incredibly supportive of BURN since the original trailer went viral in July 2010. They just outdid themselves with a terrific feature story in Sunday’s paper. You can read the online version HERE, but look at the layout in the actual paper! It’s HUGE!
